bedd are a six-piece band from Oxford. With reverb-laden guitars and analogue synths,
bedd create a melancholy nostalgia, carefully constructing huge, swelling arrangements.
Veering from intimate conversational vignettes to massive slabs of shoegaze noise, bedd try
to make sense of the beauty and fragility of life against the backdrop and certainty of pain
and loss.

Bio

bedd is a musical project led by singer, songwriter, composer and producer Jamie Hyatt,
known for his previous bands The Daisies, Medal and Family Machine as well as his scores
for the films Elstree 1976 and The Life and Deaths of Christopher Lee.
Alongside Jamie, the band features former Family Machine collaborators bass player Darren
Fellerdale and guitarist Neil Durbridge. Also in the mix are guitarist Tom Sharp, electronic
musician and producer Tim Midlen (also known as The Manacles of Acid), and drummer Sam
Spacksman.

Their debut album Do Not Be Afraid, released in late 2025, has received glowing reviews. Do
Not Be Afraid was performed, recorded and produced by Jamie with the band at Glasshouse
Studios in rural Oxfordshire, mixed by Robert Stevenson at Sweetzerland Studios, California,
and mastered by Tim Turan at Turan Audio, Oxford. It has received plaudits from across the
blogosphere and airplay across the BBC network.
